The government granted 6-month MOT exemptions to vehicles due a test after 30 March 2020 and before July 31 as part of their measures to help stop the spread of coronavirus. This means that MOT exemption ends on the 1st August 2020, therefore millions of vehicles will need their MOT in Autumn. The government predicts October and November will be extremely busy for garages – with twice the usual demand for MOT tests at what is traditionally the busiest time of year anyway.
Leaving many garages wondering if their MOT equipment is ready. Here’s some of the many ways Straightset can help garages prepare.
Ensuring your MOT equipment is serviced, calibrated and ready for the increase in demand come September will be paramount.
Straightset has a nationwide team of GEA accredited engineers, offering servicing and calibration on the full range MOT equipment and garage equipment. With 30 years of experience, we have the knowledge on the majority of major manufacturers. With a dedicated Subcontracts controller, we can take on the burden of managing your calibrations and servicing under 1 contract.
Costly breakdowns during this critical period will need to be avoided. We offer a fast, efficient breakdown response and reduced rates for contract customers.
The suitability and robustness of your MOT equipment will inevitably come into play during this busy time. Now may be a time to replace old MOT equipment, with new equipment with warranties and easily sourced parts, or time to double up on equipment to increase the amount of testing you can achieve.
Either way, Straightset partners with a large range of quality manufacturers, including BM Autoteknik Premier Diagnostics, Werther, Tecnolux to name a few, offering the full MOT equipment range including Brake Testers, MOT Lifts, Headlight Testers, Gas and Smoke Analysers and MOT accessories.
The layout and accessibility of your MOT equipment during this busy time will ensure increased efficiencies with the increase in demand.
With a dedicated design team, using the latest technology and their 30 years of experience, Straightset can help to ensure your MOT bay layout is optimised.
In addition, design teams can work closely with our on onsite fabrication shop, to find bespoke solutions to elevate operational or design problems within your garage.
