There is a misconception that all MOT bay equipment is similar. The truth is there is a huge range of specifications to choose that can add benefits to your business you may not have considered.
MOT Lift:
Essentially there are three types of MOT Lift, we at Straightset recommend;
All are available in Class IV and VII versions. If space is tight, consider a scissor or in-ground lift to minimise the bay width required by not having to ensure 600mm clearance from the lift posts.
All three types can be supplied in various lengths to suit the vehicles you see most. If you have the space there is nothing to stop you from installing a longer Class VII lift in a Class IV bay. If you operate a booking-in system you can use the bay for other activities and choosing a lift that can be used for wheel alignment with flush rear slide plates, or sized to cope with longer vehicles for service work can make the bay highly productive when not conducting MOTs.
MOT Brake Testers:
Just want to install a standard roller bed brake tester? Straightset have these available from £5,900 + vat for a simple analogue unit for two-person and OPTL testing.
ATL roller bed Brake Testers from Beissbarth and Nussbaum are fully computerised with an integrated weighbridge. The Nussbaum NT810 can be supplied with the option of motorcycle adaption kits for Class 1 & 2 testing. If digging holes in a workshop floor is not possible, slim line, surface mounted AREX Plate brake testers which are DVSA accepted are the ideal solution.
Here at Straightset, we offer the full range of MOT equipment, including MOT / ATL Lifts, Brake Testers, Headlight Beam Testers, Gas & Smoke Analysers, Jacking Beams, ATL Tools and MOT Packages, from carefully selected manufacturers. We believe in only supplying equipment which can be fully supported, therefore offering aftercare packages that are second to none, where parts which can easily be easily sourced.
